Imagine a boxer who cannot move freely in the ring, but only in one direction, said Ralf Raths, director of the Panzer Museum in Münster, Germany. The Leopard 2s are generally considered by military experts to be better than most of Russia's tanks, providing better protection, fire control (ability to hit a target) and agility. One big appeal of the German-made tanks is their sheer number: Canada's contribution was part of a wider package of tanks sent by a number of allies. The Canadian Army has 82 main battle tanks after the donation.

Check out the extraordinary variety of vehicles, maps, modes, and possible strategies that this tank shooter game has to offer! I remember being surprised that it said password must be at least 6 characters when I signed up.Īnyways, any advice would be appreciated. My iPad won’t accept my wargaming password stating that it must be 8 characters which isn’t true. If I had another android device, I could log in with the same wargaming account and get past the tutorial and then test after-tutorial again on ouya. On this screen, I can use the right stick to move the view around but nothing moves the tank forward although maybe the game doesn’t allow that until you have your thumbs in place… I can not manage to get the second one though so thats it. I can get one thumb print to go solid by double tapping the mouse pad in the centre of ouya controller over top of the thumb print. I have tried every combination of buttons possible and it won’t register. Then it now takes you to a tutorial and starts by “hold your device like this” with pulsing thumb print on each side of the screen. I can get past the google play services thing easily enough and begin the game. Update: I downloaded the latest version from another site since this doesn’t seem to be working. I see a spanish youtube video that I can’t understand and the guy is playing wot Blitz on an ouya but I don’t know how. After logging in with a wargaming account, would it be able to download it’s update from the wargaming server? If not, than I guess there is no point even setting up a wargaming account since its not possible to update it with Play on an ouya. I intend to start a war gaming account on the computer and then try logging in with that. Is it normal for Play to give you an outdated app, and then update it after install? Anyways, thats as far as I got. How could it be outdated? In the corner of the screen, it did say 2.3.0. I downloaded it from google play just an hour before. As I tried to avoid logging in, I also got a pop up that says that the app is out of date and to update it. But I did have an option to log in with Facebook, google or a wargaming account. The button failed to do anything of course (Ouya doesn’t support Play). Finally the game started up and pretty quickly came to a pop up that said something like “This device does not have google play services so can not run this app” with a button to install google services. It took a long time to download the resources of whatever. I first downloaded it from google play via Evozi as I always do then installed it via a flash drive. Using an Autoloader, rounds from the magazine can be loaded and fired one at a time, but in quick succession with only a 2 or 3 seconds delay between shots. The Autoloader retrieves new rounds from a magazine, which typically in-game holds 3 to 6 large calibre (75mm to 155mm) rounds. It is possible to mount an Autoloader in a Conventional Turret, but in such cases it must be mounted on or near the breech of the gun and independently move up and down in sync with the breech, making elevation and depression unwieldy. Therefore, the Autoloader can be fixed in the proper position adjacent to the gun's breech and move up or down with the breech inside the upper turret half. This means the gun's breech does not move up and down inside the turret as it does in a Conventional Turret. In an Oscillating Turret design, the main gun is fixed to the upper turret half, and elevation and depression of the gun is accomplished by movement of the entire upper turret half on its hinge with the lower turret half. Early generation Autoloaders were most often installed on tanks with Oscillating Turrets. Autocannons are weapons that rapid-fire a burst of multiple rounds with a single click of the trigger.Īutoloaders are mechanical devices built into the tank, not into the gun.Semi-Automatic Guns, as the term is used in-game, refer to certain guns which are designed to be reloaded from a stick-type magazine, which is integrated onto the gun at its breech.Autoreloaders - Autoloaders that reload round-by-round instead of replacing the entire magazine at once.Drumloaders - Autoloaders that can only reload the entire magazine at once.Autoloaders are robot-like, mechanical devices that are part of the tank, not the gun, and automatically reload the main gun after a shot, without intervention of human hands. The terms used in-game to describe these three variations areas follows. However, there are certain guns and vehicles deployed in-game that have a variation on this single-shot concept, all of which involve automating the gun loading process. Rounds are loaded by human hands, aimed, and fired one at a time. Most vehicles in-game use a traditional single-shot, breech-loaded cannon as the main gun. Replays are also very helpful for illustrating feedback, or for including in your bug reports. This is a pity since Columns III is a great extension of the original. The match-three puzzle game Columns was one of Sega’s most ubiquitous titles in the early ’90s, yet this second sequel didn’t even come out in Europe. Couple all this with a relatively unusual two-player co-op mode, and you have one of the most exhilarating shooters available for Sega’s console. Its colorful graphics and transforming robot enemies provide the atmosphere of a Saturday morning TV anime show, and if you thought bullet hell shooters were the preserve of later consoles like the Saturn, you may be surprised at how much mayhem Aero Blasters manages to throw at you.Ĭonventional level designs are interspersed by stages where the scrolling speeds up and the player hurtles through a maze of narrow, sharply-angled corridors, injecting a welcome bit of variety and tension. Like most games of its era, it’s inspired by things like Gradius and R-Type, yet it’s faster and breezier than either. The sheer volume of shooters available for the Genesis meant that a few inevitably slipped under people’s radars, and Aero Blasters is perhaps one of the less well known. We’re still trying to figure out what ’90s game designers had against trees. Bad Omen‘s also one of several ’90s games that feature a killer tree as an area guardian. A few technical flaws and design choices knock it back a little (such as the annoying bit where you have to fight your way to an exit after destroying a boss – die and you have to fight the boss again) but it remains a novel, overlooked title. The horror-themed graphics add atmosphere, but it’s the speed and variety of the action that makes Bad Omensuch an entertaining game. With a bit of practice, the system quickly becomes second nature, and as the action progresses up the screen, Bad Omenbegins to more closely resemble a scrolling shooter than something like Arkanoid – there are enemies to destroy, obstacles to avoid, and area bosses to take out.įurther Reading: 25 Underrated SNES Games It gives the player two paddles to control instead of one – the first only able to move left and right, the other able to move forward and back as well as from side to side. Bad Omen/Devilishīat-and-ball games were already looking antiquated by the early ’90s, but Bad Omen brought some really fresh ideas to the aging format. Although not the most original or strategic shooter on the Genesis, Crying is at least one of the most unusual-looking and technically impressive. What’s most notable about Crying, though, is just how fast and smooth it is every level offers a constant onslaught of enemies and bullets that swoop and pulsate across the screen in hypnotic and slightly eerie fashion. A gaudy relic from a bygone age, ToeJam & Earl still has lots to offer, particularly when played with a friend. It’s an example of the game’s weird, inventive sense of humor, which extends to an ingenious two-player mode where the screen only splits in half when players head off in different directions. Obstacles include ice-cream vans and violent chickens, while the aliens’ only available response is to knock them out with tomatoes. Essentially a top-down dungeon crawler, it sees a pair of ungainly aliens (the ToeJam and Earl of the title) hunting a surreal landscape for the missing parts of their spaceship. Quite possibly the most ’90s game ever made, with its backward hats, chunky sneakers, and other period fashion accessories, ToeJam & Earlremains a delightful curio. The range of power-ups and things to collect keeps things interesting (the crocodile hero appears to have a worrying addiction to fruit machines), and some of the monsters are endearingly strange. While the single-screen, trap-the-monsters action may have seemed old hat at a time when Sonic was tearing through levels like lightning, Wani Wani World has aged quite well. At any rate, the resulting game is a bright, breezy bit of fun. Was Kaneko inspired by the success of Sonic the Hedgehogand intent on creating an “animal with attitude” character of its own? Quite possibly. Later ported to the Sega Game Gear by Kaneko itself, Berlin Wall was mysteriously altered for the Genesis, where it was given a new title and an entirely different central character – a crocodile (“wani” being the Japanese word for crocodile). In 1991, Japanese studio Kaneko created an arcade game called The Berlin Wall – a revival of the old Space Panicgame with better graphics, end-of-world bosses, and lots of power-ups. If you’re into collecting things, the box looks great, too. El Viento may desperately want to be a Castlevaniabeater, but it’s more akin to a ’90s straight-to-video movie, which oddly enough, is actually a recommendation. Then you have to select all the segment you want to de-noise and go back to the noise filter and select settings for sensitivity etc. ‘Click’ on “Get noise profile“ button to have audacity read the noise complete selection of noise component. and it pays to ’tread lightly’ there as well, and experiment. First you select a section with noise you want to remove (just the noise so typically a couple of seconds or so). Noise reduction often leads to warbling, weird sounding effects in resulting audio. Niels, I’m far from pro but so far I’ve learned: The assumption is I don't always have 'cloud' (internet connection). Ditto if I was travelling, I would want a tablet/pad to do that on. I wanted to confirm the other birds (were there also some Lesser Yellowlegs or Solitary Sandpipers? Semi-palmated or a Least?) so I get home and enlarge and adjust photos, so I can confirm what I believe I glassed with bins. I just got in from looking at a pond at dusk in order to find a (rare to us) Phalarope. An added plus of course is being able to start culling and editing pics, or just enlarging them to aid in ID. I'd like to be able to do most of that with iPad or small tablet. Now repeat above, but while off-grid, or just travelling where I didn't want to lug my 17" heavy, big, laptop. Often the recordings are multiple birds, some very faint, and the only way to use the 'data' is to massage it a bit. Or I might go through the exercise so I can compare the recording to known library recordings in effort to confirm what I think I saw. If needed for 'supporting media' I might upload to eBird. Typically I get home, move files via SD card onto laptop, open in Audacity, hunt for bird-of-interest, filter extreme low end, amplify, export snip to file with bird name, date, location. I'm birding and I use Merlin or other iOS recording app on phone. Click to expand. The assumption is I don't always have 'cloud' (internet connection). |
